Glenview Park District Dog Park Passes Go on Sale February 1, 2009
Glenview Park District residents will be able to purchase passes to use Glenview’s first dog park beginning February 1. The park, Community Bark West, which is nearing completion as part of Phase II development at Community Park West, 1001 Zenith Drive, is slated for a June 2009 opening.
The fenced 6 acre off-leash park will be open to dog pass purchasers only and feature a separate small dog area, ADA walking paths, fountains for dogs and people, dog wash station, benches, a shelter for shade and inclement weather, and waste disposal bags and receptacles
Entry will be through use of an electronic swipe card which will be issued to dog pass purchasers. A separate dog park pass will be required for each dog using the park and a maximum of 1000 passes will be issued. All dog park users must pay an annual fee, meet Cook County & Village of Glenview vaccination, health screening and licensing requirements, and sign a liability waiver to obtain a dog park pass.
Dog park pass applications will be available at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave. and on the Glenview Park District website, www.glenviewparks.org beginning Feb. 1. A separate application is required for each dog. Completed dog pass applications with all required paperwork and full payment may be submitted by mail to Park Center, Attn: Dog Pass Application, 2400 Chestnut Ave., Suite P, Glenview, IL 60026 or in person to the registration desk at Park Center during regular business hours (M-F 9 am-7:30 pm, Sat-Sun 9 am-3 pm).
Fees for dog park passes will be $50 per year for the first dog and $25 per year for the second dog for Glenview Park District residents. In the event that the 1000 dog maximum is not reached by June 1, dog park passes may be purchased after that date by nonresidents at a cost of $100 per year for the first dog and $50 per year for the second dog.
