GLENVIEW TITAN AQUATIC CLUB (6 years-high school)

Infant and Preschool Swim School Program (3 mos.-5 yrs.)
Come introduce your child to the water. Our infant-preschool lessons are designed to be fun and safe while your child enjoys the water and learns beginning swimming skills. Children must have reached the minimum age by the first day of class. Tightly fitted plastic pants or swim diapers are required for non-toilet trained children. Classes are approximately 35 minutes of instruction and 5-10 minutes of guided discovery. Due to the popularity of our swim lesson programs, children may be registered for only one class of swim lessons per day. Children with little or no experience should sign up for the Beginning level; children who can swim a little with their face in the water and float on their back without any flotation device should sign up for the Advanced level. The Glenview Park District reserves the right to move children to different levels if needed. Do not assume that your child will automatically move to the next level after one session. It often takes several sessions before a child is ready to progress. Make-up classes will not be provided for classes missed by individual participants. Make-up classes may be provided in a situation in which Splash Landings Aquatic Complex has to cancel lessons. A refund will be given for classes that are not able to be made up when canceled by Splash Landings.

Parent-Tot (3 mos.-23 mos.)
You and your infant will learn to respect and enjoy the water through the use of songs, games and activities. Infants are primarily taught be the adult, with assistance from the instructor.

Youth Swim School Program (5 years and up)
Whether your child has never had a lesson or is ready to progress to more advanced swimming techniques, there’s a Learn to Swim class for them. Please register your child in the appropriate level by referring to the class descriptions. To help the progression of swimming, we do recommend signing up for more than one day of lessons per week. Adjustments will be made as needed. Class includes 40 minutes of instruction and 5 minutes of guided discovery. To enroll in a class, children must have reached the minimum age by the last day of class. Due to the popularity of our swim lesson programs, children may for registered for only one class time of swim lessons per day. Please sign your child up for the correct skill level. Children signed up for the incorrect skill level are not guaranteed a spot in the correct skill level. The Glenview Park District reserves the right to move your children to different levels if needed. Please be aware that your child may not automatically advance to the next level after one session. It often takes several sessions before a child is ready to progress.

Swim Team (Glenview Titan Aquatic Club)
The Glenview Titan Aquatic Club is a competitive swim team for youth ages 7 to high school. If your child loves to swim, can swim one lap of freestyle and one lap of backstroke, GTAC is looking for you. We offer multiple practices with an emphasis on swimming technique and developing your children into quality students, swimmers and citizens.

About GTAC...
Our program has produced as many smiles as champions. We like to think of ourselves as an extended family that likes to be together and swim together.

We don't claim to be as big as other teams, nor do we want to be. Our goal is to have a quality team, not just a large number of swimmers. This formula has been very successful.  As a result, we are selective but welcome all. Each season we assess your swimmer for not only their ability but we also look at their character, their willingness and desire to learn.

Our swimmers receive personal coaching from USA Swimming accredited coaches. Most of the coaches grew up in the Glenview area and want to give back to their community. GTAC mainly swims at the Glenbrook South pool but in the summer, we take it outside and swim at either Roosevelt or Flick pools.

Swimming is not only great exercise but it builds self-confidence and teaches our swimmers life-long lessons:

  • Hard work and dedication pays off
  • Competition is challenging, fun and rewarding
