2008 Outdoor Ice Skating

The park district will offer one site for outdoor ice skating this year:

The ice skating rink at Flick Park is lighted for evening activities and closes nightly at 10:00 pm.

There will be no outdoor ice skating at Johns Park during 2007-2008 winter season due to construction at Hoffman School.

It takes a minimum of three days of below freezing weather to produce safe ice. When weather conditions allow (after several days of below freezing temperatures), park district staff will clear the ice rink at Flick Park. Signs will be posted at the Flick Park entrance on Glenview Road when skating is permitted on any given day. Patrons may also call the park district weather hotline at (847) 604-1893 after 10:30 am for current rink conditions or log onto the park district website at www.glenviewparks.org.

There will be no supervision or warming facility at this location. Anyone using ice rinks should be aware that the risk of injury is present. We encourage everyone to participate in this activity in a safe manner and suggest that children be supervised by a responsible adult.
